Lovely Release

Hey Everyone,

"Lovely" released a few weeks ago and we couldn't be more pleased with the response so far. Since then we have been named one of Independent Music New's Top 50 Indie Acts, we've been reviewed and interviewed by Violent Success. We were featured on River Jones Music Label's April Compilation, and played on both KFMA and KUKQ. And how could we forget being listed as one of Yab Yum's 5 Albums to Get Excited About. We have also signed a publishing contract with Lyric House Publishing and couldn't be more excited about our future. So, thanks so much for being fans and helping & encouraging us along the way!

Blake the Owl Boy Pt. 1

The origins of our newest member.

There once was a nest in a neon E above a Best Buy store that housed an unusually large egg. Two owls paced nervously about the nest. “The egg should have hatched by now!” one of them exclaimed. They had no idea what was taking so long for their egg to hatch. Deciding that their egg was a dud, the two owls began to roll the egg over the edge of the E.

Suddenly, a long crack tore its way down the face of the egg and a little beak popped out. The owls hoo’d in joy. Their little one had finally arrived! They could see the cute little blue eyes, the furry neck that could spin 360 degrees, and that adorable little beak. They couldn’t be happier. But then they noticed it. Five gangly pink appendages floating in the primordial egg goo.

The father looked at his mate like, “What in Moloch's name were you doing while I was collecting worms?” The reason why the Best Buy maintenance man hadn't evicted them had suddenly become clear to him. Owl boy's mother just cried. They both wished they had just rolled the egg off the E.

Blake was an outcast from that moment on.

To be continued…

Album Cover

I just wanted to post about the progress we're making on this record. Right now we're in the mixing phase, pretty much everything has been recorded. The most exciting part so far is what got done yesterday. We found the perfect album cover! Thanks to Daniel Conkovich's badass painting abilities, we're getting closer and closer to release (February). Here's a little preview of a small corner of the cover:

TLMS 12/03/12

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who came out to our show the other day. It was one of the most fun shows that we have ever played.

It was our first show ever with Blake as an owl and only the second with our new drummer Brendan, and like I said, it was really fun. The chemistry amongst the current members of the group is the best it has ever been. If you haven't seen it yet, we would love you to come out and dance with us!

After our set Redrick Sultan (Canada) played a really great set that was also lots of fun. A set of true musicians. Go check them out, especially if you have some time to listen to a really great record. http://www.redricksultan.com/
Here is Zak (bass player) lending his hat to Andrea during our set.

Update

Andrea finally came around to sing some tracks for the album. It's all there is left to do really, and her natural lack of cooperation has been worse than usual.

We're way behind schedule... but it feels good to be making progress.

Check this out, though:
Pretty badass, right?

Anyway, the drummer is still alive. It's been long enough that it's safe to know his name, it's Daniel.
Yesenia also took some pictures of us, so you'll be able to meet him soon.... hopefully before something tragic happens to him.

Also, apologies for not posting much lately and writing this scattered post, but I guess it's something.
Oh, and along with the pictures Yesenia took, another episode of Pajama Jams is on the way.
